What Epithalon is Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide derived from work on epithalamin, a pineal gland extract. It is among the shortest peptides in common research use, and its size makes it a useful probe for questions about how small a sequence can be and still show sequence-specific activity. Mechanism Reported in cell culture to increase telomerase catalytic subunit expression, with associated effects on telomere length in somatic cell lines. Also studied for interactions with pineal function and melatonin rhythm.
