What BPC-157 is BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide corresponding to a partial sequence of body protection compound, a protein isolated from human gastric juice. It is stable in aqueous solution and does not require a carrier, which is part of why it appears so widely in the experimental literature. Mechanism Research describes an effect on the nitric oxide system and on vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 signalling, with downstream influence on endothelial cell migration and new vessel formation. Work in fibroblast culture reports increased cell migration and altered expression of growth-factor receptors.
